On Kenya Safari at Mara Explorer Luxury Tented Camp

Mara Explorer is an exclusive five-star canvas getaway, situated on the thickly forested Talek River bank in the middle of the Masai Mara. At this wilderness retreat you can watch Elephant or Giraffe at the water from the privacy of your veranda or outdoor Victorian bathtub on a Kenya safari.

Situated in the heart of the reserve, Mara Explorer Lodge enjoys prime views of the seasonal Great Wildebeest Migration between June and September, and some of the world's most rewarding big cat sightings during the remainder of the year on an unforgettable Kenya safari.

“The Great Migration” of East Africa moves between Kenya's Masai Mara and Tanzania's Serengeti in one of Nature's greatest wildlife spectacles. Mara Explorer Lodge can arrange everything for guests on a photographic safari. The 4x4 safari jeeps have been specially modified for access, comfort and legroom and various accessories can be provided.

Thousands of Wildebeest and Zebra undertake this intense journey, constantly driven by their need to reach the nutritious grasses of the Serengeti. The huge herds are closely followed by predators (Lion, Hyena and Cheetah) that make the most of every opportunity to catch their next meal. With an opportunity to see all these animals in abundance at once is very exciting.

Mara Explorer Lodge provides 3 game drives daily or guests can arrange a full day safari to the Mara River with a delicious picnic breakfast and lunch. Mara Explorer also offers thrilling al-fresco bush meals where no creature comforts are spared in the middle of Big Five country.

You simply must drink to toast Africa's incredible diversity of wildlife. Sundowners are a must in the magnificent Masai Mara enjoying superb views as the sun melts into the horizon. Evenings come alive with the movement of night animals like Bat-eared Fox, Owls and big cats like Lion and Leopard stirring to hunt under the cover of darkness.
