Bush walks depart during the early hours of the morning and takes safari-goers one step closer to the rawness of Africa’s wildlife. After a briefing, your armed ranger will escort you into the bush and teach you about tracking spoor, identifying insects and birds and assist you in encounters with small mammals.
Start your day with an Etosha game drive in an open-sided safari vehicle alongside an experienced guide. This morning game drive is an opportune time to spot the various species of wildlife that reside in the savannah grasslands. Onguma game drives take place in the afternoon for a sunset viewing and encounter with the abundance of wildlife and birdlife.
Onguma Rhino research drives exposes guests to the research and conservation projects that are currently being conducted in response to the increase in Rhino poaching. Guests can aid rangers in capturing data and evaluating the results.
Children on safari in Namibia will enjoy a specialized programme of age-appropriate game drives, activities and meals. Staff with child-minding experience will keep the little ones entertained with educational activities while their parents enjoy leisurely time in the bush. The camp has a game area where children can enjoy the selection of books, DVD’s, toys and games. A fenced area allows children to enjoy the outdoors in a completely safe environment. Children under the age of 10 are not permitted on regular game drives, but the lodge offers private family game drives.
