Game Viewing at Sanctuary Saadani River Lodge
A safari classic is made unforgettable in one of Africa’s last remaining protected coastal areas. Game drives in the Saadani National Park take place in the early morning and late afternoon, into the evening, of each day. The guided drives grant safari-goers possible sightings of the big cats – lion and leopard – as well as easier sightings of antelope, giraffe and buffalo.
The Wami River and its wildlife can be discovered during guided river excursions. On your journey to the river mouth, you will spot the resident hippo and crocodile that occupy the water and banks, as well as the land animals grazing the plains nearby. Bird watching can be done during this excursion as an abundance of species exist in the region.
In addition to the river excursions, bird watching can be enjoyed from the lodge or in guided trip around the lodge, where sightings of kingfishers, fish eagles and many others are possible.
Bush dining and sundowners
Make your stay in the bush more authentic by enjoying your meals in secluded parts of the wilderness. Your guide will pick a safe spot and prepare a dining seating in the middle of the wildlife-rich plains or even in the middle of the river. Sundowners in the bush are the perfect complement to a breathtaking sunset.
If you prefer a more focused Tanzania safari experience that will lead you to your most desired wildlife dreams, a private safari can be arranged at an additional cost. Your trained local guide will assist you in your discovery of the bush, either by foot, in a safari vehicle or by boat.
Pamper sessions can be enjoyed at the in-house spa where a selection of wellness and beauty treatments are offered by professional staff.
