Location of Chongwe River Camp

Situated in the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia’s Lusaka Province, Chongwe River Camp enjoys direct contact with the Zambezi River.

Zambia’s Lower Zambezi valley benefits from the union of the Zambezi and Chongwe Rivers, which creates a unique and diverse ecosystem of breathtaking landscapes and an abundance of wildlife. The Lower Zambezi National Park stretches from the Chongwe River in the west to the Luangwa River in the east.

Apart from being Africa’s fourth largest river, the Zambezi River attracts visitors to its shoreline of diverse fauna and flora. The region has a moderate to tropical climate with winter temperatures reaching 24 degrees and summer days reaching a high of 35 degrees.

Adjacent to the park is the Chiawa Partnership Park, where game drives take place. The two areas offer sightings of various wildlife sightings including buffalo, lion, various antelope and sometimes the elusive leopard comes out to surprise safari-goers.
