Top Activities at Elephants Eye Hwange Lodge

Elephants Eye Hwange Lodge offers excellent game viewing safaris in Hwange National Park including day and night game drives, walking safaris, horseback safaris and cultural interactions.

Game Drives and Walks

Take your pick between half and full-day game drives. Each day is entirely different at Hwange National Park when it comes to game viewing, and the tracker-guides are exceptionally good at making sure of it. A delicious picnic lunch is included prepared by the kitchen staff. You can also experience expert-led 3-hour game walks when you're ready to stretch your legs.

Explore the Salt Pans

One of the biggest draws during game drives are the salt pans. These lime-flavoured watery areas are hotspots for high concentrations of wildlife. Unique observation platforms have been built at some pans so you can enjoy the pleasure of watching animals coming to drink, bath, and squabble with each other over the best spots - particularly during the dry season.

Sleep in the Eye

The Eye is a raised star bed located just a 15-minutes' drive from the main camp. This private sleep-out deck features a luxurious bed (protected by a mosquito net) set high above the waterhole. The sunsets here are breathtaking, as are the early mornings when you'll be greeted by families of elephants, buffalo and various antelopes shuffling about in the vegetation below you.

The Jwapi Spa

If you'd like to set aside an afternoon of pure relaxation, make your way over to the private spa. The Jwapi is a semi-open-air spa, run by highly-trained therapists who make use of eco-friendly products. "Jwapi" is a local name for the Ground Hornbill (think Zazu from the Lion King). Many of these stout-billed birds can be heard calling to you from the bush during your treatment.
