Position of Elsas Kopje, Meru National Park

There are scheduled flights 3 times a week, to bring you to this haven for the wild.

Elsa's Kopje Game Lodge in Kenya is a soft landing in the wild; when you step off the plane you are greeted by a warm, gentle breeze, carrying the scent of the open plains and bush. Elsa's Kopje is almost invisible to the eye as you approach the hill. It blends in to the rocky crags and hillside, built close to the site of George Adamson's original camp where George and Joy Adamson released Elsa the lioness into the wild, the story made famous in the film 'Born Free'.

The lodge blends into the hillside of Mughwango Hill, site of Goerge Adamsons original camp. Meru is vast with arid, open plains dotted with Doum Palms and Baobab trees and lush vegetation along 13 rivers, like green ribbons, bisecting the Park. Here visitors will see a more diverse range of species than in any other Park or Reserve.

Regular sightings include Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Elephant, Grevy's Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Lesser Kudu, Grant's Gazelle, Leopard, Lion, Cheetah, Rhino and the rare, elusive Greater Kudu. Meru is famous for its bird life, riverine and forest species as well as the arid country species.
