Where is Malu Farm, Lake Naivasha

Malu is an 1800 acre forest near Lake Naivasha in Kenya comprising the last remaining section of unspoilt Juniper cedar between Longonot and Nakuru.

Malu Farm is a stunning getaway destination near Lake Naivasha in Kenya and a base for excursions to Lake Nakuru National Park, Crescent Island, Hell's Gate National Park and Kigio Game Reserve. Kenya safari guests can fly-in or drive from Nairobi which takes about 1.5 hours.

This beautiful indigenous forest is situated on an escarpment overlooking Lake Naivasha, 11km (7 miles) from the main Nbo-Nakuru road. The west side of the property is bordered for 3km (1.8 miles) by the majestic Malewa River, the main tributary of Lake Naivasha in Kenya, with beautiful gorges, rapids and a waterfall. On the south side of the property is the Mahindu stream fed by hot springs where a plunge pool has been built for guests to use.

The Kenya wildlife includes Colobus and Sykes monkeys, Zebra, Dik Dik, Bushbuck, the elusive Leopard and a prolific bird population. There are guided activities so that you may see these animals, plant life and Lake Naivasha.

How to get there

Malu Farm is situated on the Rift Valley Escarpment, just 14km (9 miles) from Naivasha town and 1.5 hours drive from Nairobi. Visitors can be transferred from and to Naivasha town, Lolidia Airstrip and Airspray Airstrip in Malu Farm 4x4 Land Cruisers.

By Road:

Malu farm is located to the east of Lake Naivasha, 11km (7 miles) from the main Nairobi - Nakuru road. Travelling from Nairobi the road is 1hr 10mins on good tarmac, and 20 minutes on murram. Nakuru is a 1 hour drive from Malu. 4x4 vehicles are recommended, especially in the wet season.

Fly In:

Guests can bring their own aircraft and also fly-in for lunch. Runway details are available on request.
