Location of Okahirongo Elephant Lodge

Located in northern Namibia, this Kunene safari lodge is located in the Purros Conservancy, a short flight from Windhoek.

Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is a remote safari lodge in the Purros Conservancy. Located a mere 55km from the skeleton coast, this Kaokoveld region is home to the nomadic Himba tribe and wildlife species that have adapted to life in the desert.

By Car

Driving from Sesfontein, turn west onto the D3707 track. Follow this for around 119km until you reach Purros - the lodge is a few kilometres past Purros. Depending where you will be driving from and if you are sleeping over somewhere it can take 2 days driving from Windhoek, from Etosha you can do the drive in 1 day and from Damaraland it can take up to 6 hours depending on your itinerary.

By Plane

Planes fly from Eros airport in Windhoek to Purros via Palmwag for a fuel stop which takes about 30 minutes and then from Palmwag, flying to Okahirongo Elephant Lodge airstrip will take another 35 minutes.
