Activities at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge

Game viewing at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge in northern Namibia affords safari-goers with unique sightings of desert-adapted wildlife.

Safari Drives

Game drives into the open plains of the desert take place in open safari vehicles alongside trained guides. While traversing across the landscapes, sightings of desert-adapted Elephant and Lion can be spotted, as well as various antelopes, Giraffes and the rare Black Rhino.

Walking Safaris

Walking safaris allow safari-goers to take a step closer to the wildlife as expert Himba guides explain the characteristics of the various plants, insects and smaller creatures of the wilderness. Track black rhinos by following their footprints and then enjoy a tasty brunch in the bush.

Scenic Drives and Sundowners

The Hoarusib River attracts local wildlife from giraffes and elephants to orynx and jackals. Scenic drives let you experience the spectacular desert scenery and see wildlife, followed by a picnic lunch. Don't forget your camera to capture it all!

Sundowner excursions take you to a secluded spot where you can watch the sun set over the dunes while you indulge in snacks and drinks.
