Eco-friendly Accommodation at Rubondo Island Camp

Rubondo Island Camp invites guests to enjoy the scenic location in a locally produced and decorated cottage with views of the forest and Lake Victoria.

Operating as an eco-friendly lodge, Rubondo Island Camp pays careful attention to the effect their existence has on the natural environment of the island. Using generator power and practicing only catch-and-release fishing, the lodge is eco-friendly from its accommodation to the outdoor activities it offers.

An exclusive total of 8 waterfront en-suite chalets are privately situated amongst the lush forest area of the island, with views of Lake Victoria. Local resources and traditional skill were used to create these tranquil retreats, which are adorned with a private hammock in which you can relax in the gentle breeze.

The lakefront cottages are situated between 10-20 meters apart, allowing a private, uninterrupted stay at the lodge. The camp is often graced by the presence of free-roaming hippos that stray from their resident position in the waters of the lake or on the banks bordering the lake.
