Day 1: Migration in the Serengeti

Board a light aircraft from Kilimanjaro International Airport to the Serengeti National Park, where your guide will meet you and transfer you by road to your camp, game viewing on the way. If you are travelling between July and October, the camp will be in Northern Serengeti following the great migration. During these months, the area is rich in wildebeest, antelope and zebra, all feeding and trying to evade predation as they cross the Mara River.

If you are travelling between December to March, then the camp will be in Southern Serengeti where the huge herds are enjoying a feast of green grass, resting and calving. The predators are all around waiting for unwary antelope to drop their guard and become a meal. Settle into your wood and canvas tented suite with its massive cast iron bed, en suite bathroom and private viewing deck.

Day 2 - 3: Following the Great Migration

Wake up early with a fresh cup of coffee and the sounds of the dawn chorus ready to start your morning game drive taking a packed breakfast with you. Scour the plains searching for leopard, cheetah or lion as they search for a likely candidate to hunt. Marvel at the sheer volume of plains game for as far as the eye can see. Stop under a shady tree and feast on breakfast, as you observe the game all around you.

Return to camp for a sumptuous lunch and siesta, before setting out again in the late afternoon with sundowners, kept chilled in the vehicle's on board fridge, to watch the afternoon show. Look for bat eared foxes, golden jackal and spotted hyena amongst the plains game. Find a vantage point and watch the sun slip out of the sky, sipping a gin and tonic, surrounded by the sounds of the ever grazing herds.

Day 4: Ruaha National Park

After breakfast make your way to the airstrip, say goodbye to the vast plains of the Serengeti and board your flight to Ruaha, arriving there in time for a late lunch. Your new camp is set atop a rocky kopje overlooking the baobab strewn wilderness. The suites, hidden amongst rocky boulders, each decorated in sophisticated elegance with every space a vantage point are open to nature.

All suites have louvered shutters closed for extra privacy or opened to allow the suite to merge with the natural environment. The king size bed is perfect for an afternoon snooze as is the hammock on your private deck. The camp, based in the core area of Ruaha, ensures that you are never far from the action.

Day 5 - 6: Captivating Safari

Spend your days together on guided walks through some fantastic scenery discovering the smaller creatures on foot. Take time to hear, smell and feel the beauty of Africa, with experienced guides telling you some of the many secrets of the bush. Take morning and afternoon game drives exploring the varied landscapes that makes Ruaha so unique and interesting. Look for the animals not often seen elsewhere, like lesser and greater kudu, sable and roan antelope.

Enjoy the antics of the baby elephants as they try to control their long trunks that they keep tripping over, and bashfully hide under their mother’s great girth. Go on night drives, with a red flashlight scanning the terrain searching for the hidden nocturnal animals as they emerge and observe the diurnal creatures prepare for another night, knowing that the predators are on the prowl. Sit around the campfire for pre dinner drinks and dine under the stars with a table just for two.

Day 7 - 9: Romantic Zanzibar

It’s time to Board a flight from Ruaha to Zanzibar, for the beach part of your honeymoon escape. A chauffeur will be at the airport ready to whisk you off to your villa on the northeast of the island. As you drive past the small rural villages, inhale the sweet heady aroma of cloves and look for them drying at the side of the road.

Your villa is one of four, nestled amongst palm trees next to a secluded beach. Each is beautifully furnished with locally produced materials lending them a unique Zanzibari vibe. Recline on your rooftop terrace overlooking the cerulean Indian Ocean, or cool off in your private rooftop pool. Dine in comfort on your private deck making the most of the tropical climate. Your days are all about indulgence and luxury, with a private butler available for your every need.
There are plenty of water based activities close by to keep you busy, from snorkelling and scuba diving to kite surfing and deep sea fishing. Take a reef walk at low tide and watch the seaweed being harvested by the brightly dressed women and then dried on the beach.

Day trips to historical and fascinating Stone Town combined with a spice tour or a trip to Jozani forest to see the indigenous red colobus monkeys can be easily arranged.

Spend your days lazing on the beach, watching the nimble locals scale the palm trees to retrieve the coconuts. Eat delicious fresh food, straight out of the ocean and garden. Zanzibar is the spice island made for love and romance.
