Kiba Camp Experience

Set on the banks of the Rufiji River are four beautifully appointed thatched roofed stone cottages resting on raised platforms, overlooking the woodlands and the river. They are all open fronted and made for comfort with elegant cool interiors. Huge beds draped by mosquito nets, give the thrill of sleeping close to nature, safely and restfully. All the cottages are en suite with an outdoor shower and private plunge pool.

The main camp area, exclusive to your group consists of a homely lounge filled with sofas for lazy afternoons, dining room and large pool. The discrete staff is attentive to your needs in an unobtrusive way, so that you can relax and indulge in the safari of your dreams.Wake to the cry of a fish eagle and the welcome aroma of freshly brewed coffee, ready to welcome the day as the sun starts to rise. Set off in the pursuit of the wild dogs as they hunt to feed their ferocious pack. Stop for a bush breakfast, cooked on an open fire, with beautifully laid up settings of table and chairs, complete with linen and condiments, as you watch the flamingos sieve the lake and the crocodile's eyes just visible in the water also watching them.

Recline on comfy planters chairs or on sunbeds next to the pool, watching the elephants feeding in the woods or drinking from the river, right in front of your cottage. Marvel at how silent and ghostly a herd of elephants can suddenly become, as they step into the woods and seemingly disappear.Visit Lake Tagalala and witness the sun sink down behind the lake, with a cold drink in hand listening to the snorts and bellows of the hippo as they splash and challenge each other.

The landscape around the camp is very diverse from woodland, palm thickets, lakes, kopjes and gorges there is plenty to explore and plenty of game all year round.

All activities are exclusive to your group, with private guides and cars on hand ready to take you on a game viewing adventure. You have the ultimate freedom to choose your own timetable re meals and game activities and the focus is entirely on you and your group’s interests.
