How to get to Kigelia Ruaha

Kigelia Ruaha in Ruaha National Park of Southern Tanzania is known for its abundance of Kigelia trees, also known as Sausage Trees.

The Ruaha River joins up with the Rufiji River in the Selous National Park and they continue their journey to the Indian Ocean as one.

By air:

Nearest airstrip: Msembe, Ruaha National Park. Ruaha is accessed by daily flights from Arusha (flights from the Serengeti and Manyara connect to this flight also), Dar and the Selous. There are daily flights out of Ruaha to the Selous, Dar (connecting onwards to Zanzibar and Mafia), and the Serengeti. Ruaha also features on the twice weekly flight schedule linking southern Tanzania with western Tanzania: flights operate on Monday and Thursday mornings to and from Katavi and Mahale National Parks.
