Guided Mobile Camping from Okavango to Victoria Falls

Your guided Botswana mobile safari starts in Maun and ends in Victoria Falls. Explore the fascinating Okavango Delta water-ways and pass through some of the best wilderness areas of Botswana.

  • Please Note: The guided mobile camping portion of this trip is semi-participation. You will have to pitch and fold your own tent. All cooking, cleaning and any other camp chores are taken care of.

One of the highlights of this Botswana guided tour is a Mokoro trip on the Okavango Delta waterways and the amazing game viewing in Chobe National Park. There are also many optional activities available in Victoria Falls.

Day 1: Maun, Botswana

You will be met at Maun International Airport and get a shared road transfer to Thamalakane River Lodge, just outside of Maun set on the banks of the Thamalakane River. You will be accommodated on the edge of the Okavango Delta, serenaded by the sound of Hippos and Bell Frogs breaking the night silence. The lodge offers comfortable accommodation in en-suite stone chalets. (Lunch & Dinner Included)

Days 2 - 3: Okavango Delta, Botswana

Your guided mobile camping safari tour will start as you head to the Okavango Delta. After transferring your equipment to motorboats, you will cruise along the narrow papyrus-lined channels of the Delta. While searching for the elusive Sitatunga Antelope, you will be enjoying the exquisite bird life of the region and absorbing the stunning landscape of this area on your safari travel in Africa.

Deeper in the Delta you will meet your mokoros (traditional dugout canoes) and enjoy a tranquil ride to an island where you will spend 2 nights. Most of your time will be spent exploring the island on foot and by mokoro. Camping in the wild with bush ablutions. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included).

Day 4: Maun, Botswana

Inspired by the beauty of the Okavango, you will return to your vehicle and retrace your route to Maun. You have the option on your safari travel in Africa to taking a flight over the Delta to return to Maun. This will provide another perspective of this unique water system and a chance to spot game from the air.

Tonight will be spent at a private camp outside Maun. Camping with permanent ablutions. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included).

Days 5 - 7: Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

The big game aspect of your safari travel in Africa commences today as you enter Moremi Game Reserve, one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana. The park covers swamp areas as well as dry land. The next 3 nights of your safari travel in Africa will be spent in this park searching for the wide variety of animals and birds in the reserve, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region.

Enjoy game drives as the sun rises, and in the late afternoon as the sun sets, which will be the norm on your safari travel in Africa. You will then move campsites to a different area of the park allowing you to explore the different regions this diverse area has to offer. Camping will be in private designated areas with bush ablutions. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included).

Days 8 - 10: Chobe National Park, Botswana

Chobe National Park, with its diverse and striking landscapes, is your next destination on your safari travel in Africa. As you continue your search for wildlife, you will traverse the drier region of Savuti where Bull Elephants dot the plains. You will then head northwards to the Chobe River on your safari travel in Africa, where your game drives will meander along the banks of the river, followed by the call of the majestic African Fish Eagle. You will camp in private designated areas with bush ablutions. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included).

Days 11 - 12: Livingstone, Zambia

You will cross the Zambezi River by ferry, then drive to Livingstone on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls, where you will stay at a comfortable lodge. There is time to visit the thunderous Victoria Falls and shop for curios. There are many exciting optional activities (at your own cost) offered at Vic Falls, such as the exhilarating white water rafting down the Zambezi Gorge, Elephant rides and Helicopter Flights over the Falls. Dinner is at your own expense at the lodge.

Your safari tour officially ends at 10am on Day 12. You will then be transferred by road to Livingstone Airport. (Breakfast & Lunch served on Day 11 - Breakfast only on Day 12)
