Maramboi Tented Camp is located in the migratory corridor of Manyara and Tarangire on a private concession of 25,000 hectares which is run entirely by the local Maasai community. A small and personal camp, it is ideally located for safaris into Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks, is also an ideal base to experience the Maasai and Datoga culture.
Lake Manyara is a place of rare beauty and bountiful wildlife. The lake supports million of flamingos and other birds, and big game such as lion leopard and elephant are commonly seen. It is here where the famous tree climbing lions may be seen on game drives.
Tarangire National Park is beautifully unspoilt, and game drives will visit the Tarangire River, which attracts many migrant animals during the dry months, especially between July and September. Large elephant herds congregate here, as do many wildebeest and zebra.
There are also good populations of impala, giraffe, eland and buffalo. Tarangire's birdlife is also varied with over 500 species that have been recorded here. During the wet season, the Manyara and Tarangire Pans fill with water which attracts huge flocks of Flamingos and other wading birds.
The dining area is located on an elevated wood platform with a thatched roof and encircled by majestic palm trees. An uninterrupted view of the Manyara shore is a perfect setting for delicious meals and sunset cocktails.
