Guided Safaris at Beho Beho

Beho Beho's experienced guides will plan your Tanzania safari programme, whether you need time to relax or spend the day out in the bush on your Tanzania vacation.

Game drives at Beho Beho are usually undertaken in the early morning or late afternoon on your Tanzania safari. From Beho Beho it is possible to explore a unique array of varying biodiversity, from the fascinating lake regions of Tagalala and Mwanze, riverine forest to miombo woodland and plains.

The speciality of the camp is to go on guided walking safaris, usually starting early in the morning before the heat of the day, the walks can last from an hour to three hours culminating in breakfast at a prearranged shady spot or at a rendezvous with a vehicle to go back to camp for a relaxing brunch. Afternoon walks can also be very rewarding on your Tanzania vacation, along the Beho Beho river or through the first World War trenches to meet your vehicle with welcome 'sundowner' drinks, before the darkness comes and it is time to head back to camp.

Lake Tagalala and Maji Moto Excursion - After a short game drive you will arrive at Lake Tagalala for your boating safari. The lake is surrounded by a number of natural springs which attracts amazing birdlife as well as a large hippo and crocodile population. After a bush breakfast on your Tanzania vacation, you will take a short walk to the hot sulphur springs, Maji Moto, where you swim in the deep natural pools before returning to Beho Beho.

Travellers who stay for a minimum of four nights at Beho Beho can opt to take one night as a 'Bush night'. These are spent away from camp, usually beside a sand river, fly-camping in tents made mostly of insect-proof gauze. This is opulent Tanzania safari camping; with first-class meals, a stylish, candle-lit tent with a proper double bed and an en-suite shower and toilet.
