Okonjima Plains Camp is home to the AfriCat foundation - a welfare organization that rescues carnivores from inhumane conditions, rehabilitates and releases them. The foundation creates awareness on conservation and educates people on environmental issues. They focus on researching and contributing towards habitat and wildlife conservation, as well as community upliftment.
This family-run lodge has a vision of restoring nature reserve back to its natural state, unaffected by modern cruelties such as poaching.
