The Okonjima Nature Reserve covers an area of 22 000ha, and the lodge reserve occupies a property of 2 000ha. The 20 000ha of open land is home to the rehabilitated carnivores that are radio-collared and roam within this safe environment. Okonjima is the only camp situated within the 20 000ha reserve, resulting in the exclusive child policy.
The reserve is a 2.5 hour drive from Namibia’s capital city, Windhoek, and a 3 hour drive from the Hosea Kutako International Airport. Etosha National Park can be reached in a drive of 3-4 hours.
The reserve’s private airstrip is situated a short 25-30 minute drive from the Villa.
The reserve is located halfway between Windhoek and Etosha National park, and can be reached via a drive from the north or the south.
Drivers should travel along the tarred B1, and take the gravel turn-off to the left if travelling form the south, or the turn-off to the right if travelling from the north. The gravel road lasts for 10km and ends at the Nature Reserve entrance gate. From there, an additional 14-16km delivers you to the camps. Please call ahead to confirm road conditions during the summer months.
