Named after a local Nhanzwa chief, Hwange National Park is the largest Park in Zimbabwe. In the late 1990s, the funding to the park's authorities dried up. It took a collective effort of NGOs, the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority and private individuals to step in to get Hwange National Park back up and running.
Elephants Eye Hwange Lodge is located 13km outside the Hwange National Park, and with easy access to its main airstrip and is ideal for a stop of a couple of nights between Victoria Falls and Bulawayo, or vice versa. While heading into Hwange will be a highlight during your stay, Elephant's Eye is also set in its own 25km2 private concession. It also overlooks a pan with a couple of pumped waterholes, making game watching almost too easy.
