Safari Experiences at Sekoma Island Lodge

Teeming with fish and bird species, this Zambia safari lodge is a paradise for fishermen and birdwatchers alike.

Boats and dugout canoes take guests out on river excursions and fishing safaris on the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers. Sekoma Island operates a strict catch-and-release policy for guests fishing in Zambia. Fly-fishing is the most commonly-used technique used to catch Tiger fish.

Cruises on the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers are the opportune time for game viewing and commonly spotted game species include Elephant, Buffalo, Waterbuck, Kudu, Hippo and Crocodile, Lion and a variety of antelope. Additionally, an optional day trip to the game-rich Chobe National Park can be arranged.

Guests wanting to take a time out from casting a line can enjoy guided walks, excellent birding opportunities, game viewing on the Chobe River and cultural excursions to Mambova Village as well as trips to Livingstone and Victoria Falls. Afterward, guests can relax back at Sekoma Island by the swimming pool, in the bar or lounge and enjoy an al fresco dining experience in the boma (outdoor enclosure).
