Chundukwa River Lodge offers 5 river facing chalets on stilts, a labour of artisanal love built on stilts over the Zambezi River, each with their own sense of luxury, romantic charm and privacy. All chalets have en-suite bathrooms with either twin or king beds.
Two chalets favour as honeymoon suites and one (Jacana River Chalet) is large enough to fit 2 extra beds should you be wanting to stay together as a family. Children of 10 years and older are welcome in the river chalets. Younger children are welcome to stay in the family-friendly Chundu Cottage.
Riverside Chalets
In keeping with Chundukwa River Lodge’s dedication to eco-conscious travel, the Riverside Chalets are intentionally built without air-conditioning. Instead, they’re crafted to flow with the rhythm of the river and forest, delivering an authentic eco-lodge experience.
Each Riverside Chalet features an open-front design, inviting in the natural sights and sounds of the Zambezi wilderness. While doors and windows are screened with gauze to keep insects out, the spaces remain naturally ventilated rather than fully enclosed.
Ceiling fans, mosquito nets, and gauze-covered openings provide comfort, and every unit includes a private balcony overlooking the river and treetops.
Chundu Cottage
Chundu Cottage at Chundukwa River Lodge is a private, family-friendly retreat set on the banks of the Zambezi River. Ideal for couples, families, or small groups of up to 6 guests.
Chundu Cottage has a master en-suite bedroom with a double bed, another bedroom with twin beds and an upstairs loft room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious lounge and dining area. Guests can relax on the private deck with river views, cool off in a private swimming pool, and enjoy exclusive use of the space with the option of self-catering or full lodge service.
