Observe the flora and fauna that inhabit this region. Climbing one of the dunes affords the energetic traveller with an unforgettable experience of endless vistas across a sea of apricot-coloured sand.

Time will be taken to explore the impressive conglomerate gorges of the Sesriem Canyon, with its rock pools fed by the Tsauchab, the same river that feeds Sossusvlei during the rainy season.

Day 1: Cape Town - Cederberg

As you depart Cape Town, you make a final stop to have a last glimpse of Table Mountain. A visit to a classic "Padstal," a small farm stall that offers a range of freshly baked goods and snacks, is a must on every road trip through South Africa.

In addition to breathtaking mountains and orange fields, the Cedarberg region is home to the native Rooibos bush, which makes a pleasant caffeine-free substitute for ordinary tea. You will get the chance to get to know one another over supper during our overnight stay, all while experiencing true South African hospitality.

Day 2: Namaqualand - Orange River

Namaqualand offers the first glimpse of the desert panoramas that will surround you in the coming days. Proceeding northward, you make a little detour to Springbok for provisions before reaching your camp beside the Orange River.

Should you be lucky enough to travel during the spring (July through September), you might come upon the wild flowers that have made this area famous.

Day 3: Fish River Canyon, Namibia

Getting out on the water is the best way to experience the Orange River, and this morning you have the chance to participate in an optional canoe excursion down the river. You leave the Orange River at noon, or after lunch, and go inland to the scenic Fish River Canyon, which is the longest river in Namibia and the biggest canyon in Africa.

You will drive to the edge of the Fish River Canyon, where you can take a leisurely stroll to get some fresh air before heading to Keetmanshoop.

    Day 4: Quiver Tree Forest - Namib-Naukluft

A full day's journey takes you south through the desert-dominated landscapes to a picturesque Quiver Tree Forest near Keetmanshoop. This prehistoric tree reaches skyward with graphically forked branches, their trunks peel and form intricate patterns as the tree matures, these are rewarding subjects to photograph.

Giant's Playground is an impressive jumble of massive boulders, a virtual maze where time can be spent wandering through the extensive rocky labyrinth.

    Day 5: Namib-Naukluft National Park

Today has been set aside for you to unwind and rejuvenate while admiring the desert's scenery. There are optional activities available, like self-guided walks in Namib-Naukuft National Park.

    Day 6: Sesriem / Sossusvlei

An early start is important, as this is not only the coolest part of the day but it's the best for photography. Your journey takes you to the famous Sossusvlei, a clay pan surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world. You will get to climb the famous Dune 45.

Time will be taken to explore the impressive conglomerate gorges of the Sesriem Canyon, with its rock pools fed by the Tsauchab.

    Day 7: Swakopmund

Seize the day and dive into Swakopmund at your own pace, where adventure and charm collide at every turn. Wander the town’s streets, uncovering attractions to suit every interest, from coastal views to colourful local culture.

Be sure to sample the town’s famed coffee shops and bakeries, where German-inspired treats fuel the next leg of your journey. With all the comforts of a small city and the Atlantic at its doorstep, Swakopmund is the ideal launch point for your onward adventure into the wild northern reaches of the land.

    Day 8: Swakopmund to Brandberg

Your desert adventure pushes north as you travel to the dramatic Brandberg Mountains, where exploration continues on foot. Accompanied by your Nomad guide, you set out on a guided nature walk to discover ancient San rock art hidden among the rocky slopes.

Known as the “Burning Mountains,” Brandberg is Namibia’s highest mountain range and home to the legendary White Lady, one of more than 45,000 rock paintings found in the area.

This morning, you tackle the roughly two-hour return hike to reach this remarkable artwork, believed to be around 2,000 years old, stepping deep into the stories and spirit of Namibia’s ancient past.

Day 9: Brandberg to Etosha National Park

With its endless salt pans, sweeping savannah and pockets of woodland, Etosha stands out as one of Africa’s great wildlife strongholds. Spanning an immense 18,000 square kilometres, it ranks among the largest national parks in Southern Africa.

The name Etosha means “great white area,” a striking reference to the vast, sun-bleached pan that dominates the heart of the park and shapes this extraordinary landscape.

    Day 10: Etosha National Park

Your second day in Etosha is dedicated to a full day of exploration, giving you even more time to immerse yourself in this iconic wilderness. No two days on safari are ever the same, and it’s the anticipation of that unforgettable sighting that keeps your senses sharp and your eyes scanning the horizon.

You venture along the edges of the vast Etosha Pan, searching for the abundant wildlife that thrives in this remarkable park.

    Day 11: Windhoek

This morning is yours to enjoy at a relaxed pace, with time to unwind around camp and soak up the final moments of your safari experience. Between 11:00 and 12:00, a representative meets you at camp for your transfer to Windhoek.
