Location of Mara Under Canvas, Serengeti

The Tanzanian corner of the Mara Triangle is home to Mara Under Canvas in northern Serengeti National Park, with its rolling grasslands and rocky outcrops.

The Serengeti is made up of a variety of landscapes – lush grasslands, rocky outcrops and refreshing watercourses. The Serengeti National Park is one of Tanzania’s most famous parks as it witnesses the Great Migration where masses of wildebeest and zebra make their way to a new area in search of food and water.

The movement of these vast herds is a spectacular annual game viewing experience. The wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, impala and eland herds are followed closely by lurking predators such as lion, cheetah and hyena.

The area is decorated by the Mara River with its resident crocodiles who provide a challenge for the wildlife crossing the Mara River. The unique ecosystem in the northern Serengeti is ideal not only for witnessing the Great Migration but is also a great year-round game viewing area.
