Location of Namiri Plains, Serengeti

Located in Tanzania’s eastern corner of the Serengeti National Park, Namiri Plains is positioned to witness some of nature’s most spectacular wildlife occurrences.

The area in which Namiri Plains is located is one of East Africa’s best cheetah areas. Previously closed to the public, the plains provided a sanctuary where cheetahs were able to breed and reside and where research could be done on these big cats.

In a habitat of grassland and acacia woodland, the Serengeti provides clear views of the vast plains. Namiri Plains benefits from the Ngare Nanyuki underground river that provides hydration for the resident wildlife on an all-year basis. The rocky outcrops of the Serengeti create kopjes from which the region can be adored.
